Rian Treanor returns to Planet Mu with new album, File Under UK Metaplasm
File Under UK Metaplasm is the follow-up to his 2019 debut LP, ATAXIA. The UK producer made the album after spending time in Uganda with the Nyege Nyege collective and working at their Boutique Studio in Kampala. As a result, Treanor was heavily influenced by singeli production while creating this LP, out on October 2nd.
“It’s using all those formulaic dance structures but just slightly mangled or messed up. I’m still focused on making functioning dance music for clubs, but I’m really interested in how far you push that before it’s just like—no,” Treanor says.
