Quasi announce ‘Featuring “Birds”‘ tour with Marnie Stern, Jeffrey Lewis & Ribbon Stage
Quasi (Janet Weiss & Sam Coomes) will play their third album, 1998’s Featuring “Birds,” in full on tour in June and July. “We’ll play the whole dang thing in order,” they write, “AND, Sam will have his guitar in tow, so in addition to “Birds”, get ready to hear fretted Quasi classics that have been out of commission for the past decade. Keyboard songs too, don’t worry. Should be a shindig. The tour signals the return of bass goddess Joanna Bolme, who will help us bring Featuring “Birds” (and beyond) to life.”
Bolme was a regular Quasi member in the late ’00s and also played with Stephen Malkmus in The Jicks.
The shows begin in Boston on June 13, with East Coast and Midwest dates in June and West Coast dates in July. Marnie Stern opens shows on the first leg, Ribbon Stage on the second, and Jeffrey Lewis opens dates at the beginning and end of the run. See all dates below.
The NYC show is on June 28 at Bowery Ballroom, with Marnie Stern. Tickets to all dates are on sale Friday, April 12 at 10 AM local time.
