Punk Island 2024 in pictures
While Governors Ball was holding its second day at Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Saturday, a very different kind of music festival was happening at its former location, Randall’s Island. Punk Island made its return to Randall’s for the first time since 2019 (it happened in Bay Ridge in 2023 and Bushwick in 2022) for its 16th edition. It was a perfect almost-summer day to spend outside seeing lots of bands on six stages, as well as zines, artists, community organizations, and vendors set up on site.
Artists performing this year included Goblin City Rat Boys, Psychic of Orange, Kissy Noises, The Milkmaids, Frida Kill, Speakeasy , Tesla’s Revenge, Joudy , Spike Polite, Dias Azules, Lake Lanier, Crazy and the Brains, The Car Bomb Parade, Presence of Conflict, Lollirot, Skorts, Stop the Presses, Pusch, Soji, Necrotic Society, Person(a), Winter Wolf, One Hour Photo, Suzuki Methyd, Car Becomes Airplane, Bachslider, Not Yer Baby, Tits Dick Ass, Despot, Monica Bang, RBNX, Lagrimas HTX, Ratas en Zelo, and Queer Chaos, and you can see lots of pictures from Saturday by Amanda Hatfield below.
