Oasis are definitely, maybe?, reuniting for shows in 2025; Liam says “I never did like that word FORMER”

As Liam Gallagher played OasisDefinitely, Maybe in full at Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend, rumors are rising again that he and brother Noel have buried the hatchet at least enough to plan Oasis reunions for 2025. And Liam seemed to be, if not confirming this speculation, then not denying them in social media posts.

UK paper The Sunday Times reports that sources in the industry say that Oasis are holding multiple night runs at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium in Summer 2025, with further rumors that a headline slot at Glastonbury might be added as well. It definitely would be good timing if these maybe happened as next year will be the 30th anniversary of their second album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, that went beyond Britpop and made them global superstars.

In a reply to someone about the The Sunday Times’ post on X/Twitter, Liam wrote “See you down front…”

Sunday morning, Liam posted on X/Twitter, “I never did like that word FORMER.”

This week marked the 15th anniversary of Oasis’ final show (V Festival on 8/22/2009). This Thursday (8/29) will be the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe.

Adding to the rumor mill, in a promotional video released this week for the Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary deluxe edition, Noel was complimentary to his brother: “I can’t sing Cigarettes & Alcohol, Rock’n’Roll Star and all that. I don’t have the same attitude as him. My voice is half a Guinness on a Tuesday — it’s all right. Liam’s is ten shots of tequila on a Friday.” You can watch that (very entertaining) interview below.

Oasis reportedly had dates at Wembley held for a possible reunion this year which didn’t happen, and Liam claims he was never informed of.

So, what’s the story, really? Stay tuned.
