No Sleep Records is saying goodnight, shutting down in July
California independent label No Sleep Records, which has released records by The Wonder Years, Balance and Composure, Into It. Over It., La Dispute, Touché Amoré, Drug Church and more, is shutting down after 18 years. Owner Chris Hansen, who started No Sleep in 2006, made the announcement via the label’s social media, writing, “No Sleep is going to bed. We’re deeply thankful for the support and collaboration from everyone who’s been part of our journey.”
Hansen added, “This was a hard decision. No Sleep has been my life for so long. But my mental health has suffered over the past few years and it’s time to refocus.”
The No Sleep webstore will close on July 10, 2014 and they’re having a closing sale with most vinyl selling for 75% off. “Once it’s gone, it’s gone,” they say.
