Music Industry Diversity Initiative (MIDI) launches mentorship scheme for young Black individuals aspiring to join the music
The programme, open to applicants across the UK, will pair Black individuals who are either in the music industry or aspiring to join it with mentors including the Local Action record label, Belfast’s AVA Festival and the music journalist Chal Ravens, to name a few.
“Our hope is that the scheme can offer valuable support, insight, experience and contacts to young Black individuals,” reads a statement from MIDI.
With current restrictions, interaction between mentors and mentees will take place online and be tailored to the needs of each participant. The program is open to UK-based Black individuals over the age of 18.
For details and a full list of participating mentors, check out Triple Threat’s post on the program.
