Music From Memory marks 50th release with a compilation mid-'90s ambient music

Music From Memory has detailed its 50th record.

Virtual Dreams: Ambient Explorations In The House & Techno Age, 1993-1997 is the first installment of a new series focused on ambient music produced in the mid-’90s. The tracks span a wide spectrum of ambient music, all created during a pivotal era when house and techno producers were testing the limits of the evolving genre. The likes of producers David Moufang (AKA Move D), Bedouin Ascent, Richard H. Kirk, LFO and Mark Hollander appear on the compilation.

Due out on December 18th, the album will be available on triple-vinyl and double-CD.

Previous Music From Memory compilations include an album exploring rare Brazilian music from 1984 through 1996, which was released last year. Another, Uneven Paths, had a focus on European pop music of the ’80s.

Earlier this year, Music From Memory also launched a new series focused on music made for theatre and dance.
