Micachu & The Shapes announce name change, new album

Mica Levi‘s band Micachu & The Shapes will release their first album in five years, Shades, under a new moniker, Good Sad Happy Bad.

The forthcoming 12-track LP, out in October on the Parisian experimental label Textile Records, is technically their debut, though including its previous iteration, the band has been making experimental pop music since 2008.

Since the last Micachu And The Shapes album, also called Good Sad Happy Bad, Levi has had a hand in all sorts of projects, including film music like the Academy Award-nominated score for Jackie, Tirzah’s 2018 LP Devotion, and CURL, the band & collective she takes part in alongside Coby Sey and Brother May.
