Mdou Moctar brought out Bombino at Brooklyn show (video), adds Jersey City show to fall tour
Tuareg musician Mdou Moctar is was in NYC this week for shows at LES’ Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday and Greenpoint’s Warsaw on Wednesday. The current Northeast heatwave broke with storms on Wednesday night but there was thunder, lightning and fire onstage at Warsaw as Mdou Moctar ripped it up. He also brought out Tuareg musician Bombino, who starts his own tour this weekend. Watch video of that below.
Mdou Moctar will wrap up his current tour supporting this year’s Funeral for Justice with shows in DC tonight and Philly on Friday before jetting to the UK for Glastonbury, but will be back this fall for more touring. That includes a just-announced NYC-area show at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on October 3. Tickets for that are on sale now, and all dates are listed below.
