LWE takes Take Note Academy and Junction 2 digital in week-long event series
Take Note, in partnership with Youth Music, has been hosting a series of talks all week via livestream. The week’s final two talks start at 5 PM BST on Thursday, July 9th, and tomorrow, Friday, the 10th. Tonight’s chat on UK bass music is between Carly Wilford and UKF founder Luke Hood , and Friday’s session on radio comes from Emerald with Martha. On Saturday, the 11th, Junction 2 picks up with its online edition JV2. The first day sees music across four virtual stages, featuring the likes of Carl Craig, Moodymann, Kevin Saunderson, DJ Minx, Waajeed, ANNA, Anastasia Kristensen, Sama’, Jossy Mitsu and Shanti Celeste back-to-back with Saoirse.
On Sunday, JV2 will host panels on topics such as dance music’s Black roots, the unifying scene in Palestine and how the electronic music industry can do better than performative allyship. Craig, Carter, Seth Troxler, DJ Holographic, Sama, Sarouna, DJ Dar and Darbak will feature on those panels, among others. See the full lineup and speaker programme here.
All profits from JV2 will go to Black Lives Matter UK, The Outside Project, Trussell Trust Foodbanks, The Care Workers Charity and Refuge.
