Luke Vibert announces his first Wagon Christ album in nearly a decade

Luke Vibert is bringing back his Wagon Christ alias for a new album, Recepticon, on Peoples Of Rhythm Records.

It’s the first Wagon Christ album in nearly a decade, following 2011’s Toomorrow. To bring back the well-loved trip-hop and downtempo-related alias, Vibert has secured artwork and visuals from Celyn Brazier, whose trademark illustrations adorned Wagon Christ records for Ninja Tune and Astralwerks/Virgin. True to form, the new 14-track LP includes instrumental hip-hop and funk riffs, found sounds, rare breakbeats and spoken-word samples, according to the label.

The Cornwall native has already had a prolific year, releasing three solo albums on Hypercolour.
