Lollapalooza 2024 day 3 pics & video (Deftones, Skrillex, Future x Metro Boomin, The Killers, Four Tet, more)

The 2024 edition of Lollapalooza continued on Saturday (8/3) with Skrillex taking over Perry’s Stage, playing both a 12 PM set to open the festival and returning later in the evening to close it out. Via Rolling Stone, “Skrillex paused to acknowledge the stage’s ties to Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell, adding that he wanted the stage’s name to remain dedicated to Perry. Skrillex also thanked the fans at the front rail, who attended his noon opening show: ‘you guys haven’t fucking moved,’ he said, before slipping into a throwback set of head-banging, early 2010’s tunes like ‘Bangarang’ and ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.’ Also performing on that stage between the double dose of Skrillex were Four Tet, Nia Archives, Kenny Beats, 100 gecsDylan Brady, and more.

Over on the T-Mobile stage, Deftones played their second Chicago show in three days (having added a surprise intimate show at Metro on Thursday). Like at Metro, they were without guitarist Stephen Carpenter, who the band said had “come down with a sudden illness.” They were joined by Chino Moreno‘s ††† bandmate Shaun Lopez (also of Far) and touring guitarist Lance Jackman, and Chino said onstage that he chipped his tooth for “the second time in two days.” See video from their set, and their setlist, below.

Saturday at Lollapalooza also featured The Killers (who covered Material Issue’s “Very First Lie”), Future x Metro Boomin, Killer Mike (who brought out Eryn Allen Kane for their track with André 3000 and Future, “Scientists and Engineers”), Ethel Cain, Eyedress, Dora Jar, Destroy Boys, Armani White, Friko, and more.
