LCD Soundsystem officially release new song “X-Ray Eyes” on their website

Is there a new LCD Soundsystem album on the way? Maybe? Maybe not? One thing’s for sure they’ve got a new single, “X-Ray Eyes,” which premiered on NTS Radio earlier this week which DJ Anu talked over and didn’t play in full. LCD Soundsystem have now shared the full 4:09 version on their website.

“X-Ray Eyes” feels like an early, pre-debut-album LCD song, with a bloopy synth hook over a minimal disco beat. Hearing the full version, there’s also also flute (recorder?) and, to quote The Fall, repetition repetition repetition. Most of the lyrics are just “I have eyes that can see inside” and then a whisper of the title, but then there is this this middle section: “busboy, cigarette girl, dental hygenist, or backpacking teen / newspaper seller, the nightclub MC / you’re everything, you’re all I can see / the bones in your body, the blood in your veins / your hasty decisions, your behavioral chains / replace all the cells, still something remains / but I’m losing you…sorry, what are you saying?” It’s good!

Listen to “X-Ray Eyes” at LCD Soundsystem’s website.
