Lakuti & Tama Sumo announce Uzuri Recordings retrospective for charity

Lakuti and Tama Sumo will release Uzuri Recordings Retrospective Charity Compilation on July 2nd.

Lakuti (Lerato Khati), the Berlin-based South African DJ, launched Uzuri in 2007. The label has since gone on to become a favourite amongst true-school deep house heads. The 11-track compilation, which Khati compiled with her partner Tama Sumo, includes key material and slept-on gems from the Uzuri catalogue, including music from the likes of Stump Valley, Move D, Whodat, Glenn Underground (remixing ReeKee), Joe Claussell (remixing Panama Keys) and Lerosa, to name a few.

The 10-track set is a fundraiser for Triangle Project, a Cape Town nonprofit with the mission of eradicating discrimination against and within the LGBTQ community. Triangle Project particularly helps “people of colour at the margins of society,” the label says.
