Kevin Morby announces This Is a Festival w/ Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Makaya McCraven, more
Kevin Morby has curated a new single-day festival in California. This Is a Festival happens on Saturday, October 12 at The Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, where he’ll be joined by Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon (performing solo), Makaya McCraven, Ben Kweller, and Blackstarkids. It’s presented by Noise Pop, and tickets go on sale Friday, August 23 at 10 AM PDT.
“Getting asked to host a festival is very surreal,” Kevin says. “It feels like a dream in which you’re trying to rationalize how all of these different people from your life are somehow in the same place at the same time. In the case of my festival, it’s an absolute dream come true: five of my favorite artists spanning the last twenty years of my life all performing at an amphitheater that will be MC’d by my favorite podcast, How Long Gone. Come watch myself, Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Ben Kweller, Makaya McCraven, and Blackstarkids share the stage of the Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz this October—which is to really say—come be in my dream!”
Morby is reuniting with Cassie Ramone for the first The Babies shows in a decade in September, and he also has dates with The Hold Steady, festival appearances including FORM Arcosanti, and a tour of Europe on his schedule. See all dates below.
