GUM / Ambrose Kenny-Smith (King Gizzard / Tame Impala) announce ‘Ill Times’ LP, share title track

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have started a new record label, p(doom), “to put out our own records and our friends’ too.” They add, “If you all keep listening to ’em, we’ll keep making ’em.”

The first release on p(doom) will be a new album from the duo of King Gizzard’s Ambrose Kenny-Smith and GUM (aka Jay Watson of Pond and Tame Impala). It’s titled Ill Times and comes out on July 19. “I was excited to explore stuff our other bands hadn’t really touched on before,” Watson says. “Funk, soul…groove-based music.”

The first single from Ill Times is its title track, a funky, psychedelic rock jam. You can watch the video below.

Ambrose is currently busy with a massive King Gizzard tour that hits North America this summer, including two shows at NYC’s Forest Hills Stadium on August 16 & 17.
