Emo vets Newfound Interest In Connecticut reunite for tour, reissue debut EP

Toronto emo veterans The Newfound Interest in Connecticut were initially around between 1999 and 2005 (and members later formed DD/MM/YYYY, Absolutely Free, and more), but they recently announced that they’re reuniting for hometown festival New Friends Fest, and they’ll be surrounding that festival appearance with US shows on both coasts.

“These shows are a celebration of the way art can sometimes have a life of its own,” the band says. “We were lucky enough to create something that, despite us being inactive for years, still continues to resonate with more and more people. We view this as a chance to honor that, the connection people have found because we know with albums we love how important that can be.”

Ahead of the shows, the band gave their 2002 debut EP Less Is More or Less a digital release via We Are Busy Bodies, and you can stream that below. They’ve also got a new vinyl pressing of their sole full-length, 2005’s Tell Me About The Long Dark Path Home, available at the upcoming shows and in stores on August 16.

The band’s first shows back are on the West Coast this week, and they’ll hit the Northeast for shows at Philly’s PhilaMOCA on August 9 and Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on August 10. All dates are listed below.
