Elvis Costello, Lucinda Willians, more playing 50th anniversary celebration of Bob Dylan’s ‘Blood on the Tracks’
Bob Dylan‘s classic 15th LP, 1975’s Blood on the Tracks, turns 50 in January, and Tulsa, OK’s Bob Dylan Center has put together a big celebration. “Shelter From the Storm” happens on January 24 at Cain’s Ballroom, and will feature a bunch of artists performing the album’s songs and others from Dylan’s discography, including Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Sharon Van Etten, The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, Real Estate‘s Martin Courtney, Robyn Hitchcock, Kevin Morby, Indigo Girls’ Amy Ray, Michael Shannon with Jason Narducy, Lonnie Holley, Diana Krall, Laura Cantrell, Emma Swift, Paul Metsa, and more.
The house band will include Brad and Phil Cook, Ben Folds Five’s Darren Jessee, Chatham County Line, and Doug Keith, who will also serve as musical director. Gregg Inhofer, Kevin Odengard, and Billy Peterson, all of whom played on the original album, will also perform, and actor Luke Wilson will emcee.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 13 at 10 AM CT, with a presale for Bob Dylan Center members starting Thursday, December 12 at 10 AM CT.
