Detroit gallery reveals new photo exhibit celebrating 20 years of Movement Festival
Curated by Rita Sayegh and Tim Price, 2000/2020: Celebrating 20 Years Of the Electronic Music Festival In Detroit, showcases photography from each year of the long-running festival, beginning with the event’s founding at Hart Plaza in 2000 as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF). 2000/2020 also features fan photos from the last two decades, which will be displayed alongside contributors’ names.
The exhibition is up now at Detroit’s Robert and Mary Ann Bury Community Gallery. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Movement festival was replaced with a virtual event, Movement At Home, that took place on its usual date over Memorial Day weekend. The festival has already lined up names for their 2021 event, including Carl Craig, DJ Minx and Richie Hawtin.
