Deer Tick played “Shine a Light” benefit with Al Olender at RJ Daniels (pics, setlist)

Deer Tick are on tour with Al Olender this summer supporting their new EP Contractual Obligations, which came out this past Friday, and they were just in the NYC-area for a few shows. After a three-night run at Woodstock’s Levon Helm Studios on July 4 weekend, they hit Long Island’s RJ Daniels on Sunday, July 7 for a Shine a Light benefit show. Proceeds went to the Tommy Brull Foundation, which helps people with special needs. It was the foundation’s 25th show in the series, and Deer Tick’s fifth time playing it; their previous appearances include 2018, 2013, and 2011. Next for Deer Tick is another Long Island show, at Amagansett’s The Stephen Talkhouse on Tuesday (7/16), and from there they’ll be on the road through July; they head back out in late August for another run that includes Stone Ridge, NY’s Meadowlark Fest. See all dates below.
