Casiokids prep first album in 13 years (hear 4 songs)
Norwegian indie band Casiokids are back, and after releasing a new single earlier this year, are gearing up to put out their first album in 13 years. It’s titled Tid for hjem (“Time for Home”) and will be out October 13 via Jansen Records.
The album includes “Brunsniggelen” and “Tid for hjem,” which were released as a double-A-side single in April, and Casiokids have shared two more songs: the dreamy “Ein levende linjal” (“A living ruler”) and tropical techno number “Karibisk stemning” (“Caribbean vibe”) which brings back fond memories of their great run of late-’00s singles. You can listen to all four, and reaquaint yourself with some of their ’00s indie hits, below.
Casiokids will make their return to the stage at Oslo’s Øyafestivalen next week (8/7) which will be their first live performance in over a decade. BrooklynVegan will be there, so stay tuned for our coverage of the festival. They’ve got a Norwegian tour in October right after the album’s release.
