Bill and Ted reuniting again… for ‘Waiting For Godot’ on Broadway
Yes way. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are reuniting again, not to reprise their roles as time-travelling would-be rock stars Bill & Ted, but for a new Broadway production of Samuel Beckett’s iconic play Waiting for Godot. While it’s clearly funny stunt casting, this is not a joke. The production will hit Broadway in the fall of 2025, theater still to be announced, with Reeves playing Estragon and Winter playing Vladimir.
“We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays,” said Reeves and Winter in a joint statement. Jamie Lloyd (Sunset Blvd, A Doll’s House) will direct and says, “It is a real honor to be collaborating with the brilliant Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Samuel Beckett’s sublime masterpiece — one of the greatest plays of all time.”
Waiting for Godot is produced by The Jamie Lloyd Company, ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live, and Gavin Kalin Productions. It’s still more than a year away with a lot of literal waiting, so stay tuned for more excellent details, and party on.
Keanu spent much of 2023 reuniting with his Dogstar bandmates, and he and Cox made a pretty good new Bill & Ted movie in 2020.
