Bandcamp launches ticketed livestream service
The new platform is integrated into Bandcamp, with a system similar to uploading releases: followers will be notified when an artist announces a show, and tickets can be purchased in the same way as releases. There are no service fees for the tickets, but as usual Bandcamp will take a cut—in this case 10 percent—of sales, though the fee will be waived through March 31st, 2021.
Other features of Bandcamp Live include an optional chatroom (which can be moderated), and a virtual merch table next to the streaming video.
Bandcamp Live launches today. Among the artists with confirmed live streams so far is Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, who will perform live on December 21st.
