Australian techno producer Rachel Lyn details her debut album, Oh Daydream
The album, Oh Daydream, was created as a respite from from “modern capitalist times,” according to the album notes:
“Often we tend to forget our productive imagination, because the culture industry already provides everything desired for us. But there is a desire in everyone for a space that provides habitual liberation. The need for space to temporarily escape these structures are realised mentally and spatially. A playground where we can just hang out and be while calling for our imagination.
Lyn also says the record was inspired by the poets and authors of the Romantic era and their creative processes. Each of the tracks will be accompanied by videos made in collaboration with Parisian photographer David Paige.
Oh Daydream is the first release on the Australian-born, Berlin-based artist’s new label My Own Imaginary World. Lyn is known for her work with modular synths, and she’s part of a performance trio called 3Ddancer Live, which grew out of her Modular Gang event series.
