’80s Hair Metal scene exposed in ‘Nöthin’ But A Good Time’ docuseries coming to Paramount+ (watch the trailer)
The ’80s hard rock scene, known affectionately/pejoratively as hair metal, that grew out of L.A.’s sunset strip and spread around the world is the subject of a new three-part docuseries coming to Paramount+. It’s titled Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of ’80s Hair Metal and premieres September 17.
Based on Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock’s book of the name name, Nöthin’ But a Good Time was directed by Jackass‘ Jeff Tremaine, and features new interviews with many scene regulars, including Bret Michaels (Poison), Stephen Pearcy (Ratt), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Dave “Snake” Sabo (Skid Row) and Cathouse owner and MTV Headbanger’s Ball host Riki Rachtman.
“I’m honored to be part of this docuseries, named after the hit Poison song ‘Nothin’ But A Good Time,’” says Bret Michaels in the press release. “I’m excited for viewers to take a fresh look at the fans and bands, highs and lows, and to celebrate the music and good times of the ’80s and beyond. I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I did, and I can’t wait for them to have insight into some of those notoriously crazy moments!”
