7 New Songs Out Today
So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
NAILS – “LACKING THE ABILITY TO PROCESS EMPATHY”
Nails have shared another song off their first album in eight years, Every Bridge Burning, and this one finds them exploring their slower, sludgy side without sounding any less caustic than usual.

THE WOLFGANG PRESS – “SAD SURFER”
The Wolfgang Press, who released many great records on 4AD during the label’s imperial ’80s / ’90s era, are gearing up to release A 2nd Shape, their first album in 29 years, in September. The first single from the album is “ ”Sad Surfer,” was just released. It’s an understated little number powered by a vintage rhythm box and tremolo’d guitar chords which lap like waves. What makes this unmistakably The Wolfgang Press, however, is Michael Allen’s voice which slips between a whispery baritone and plaintive wails.
