The Avalanches announce new album 'We Will Always Love You' | NME
After a steady release of singles throughout the year, The Avalanches have finally announced details surrounding their third album ‘We Will Always Love You’.
While the pioneering Australian group have yet to reveal its release date, they have shared the album’s artwork, designed by artist Jonathan Zawada who has previously collaborated with the likes of Flume.
In addition, the group shared that the album’s sleeve features an image of Peabody-winning writer and creative director of the Voyage Golden Record Project, Ann Druyan.
“In keeping with the album’s theme of everlasting love as an undying vibration, Ann’s image was run through a spectograph, turned into sound, and back again,” the group said in a statement.
“The image remains hidden, deep within in the grooves of the music, for you to discover if you wish.”
‘We Will Always Love You’ is the band’s third album overall and their first since 2016’s ‘Wildflower’.
The announcement of the album follows the string of singles The Avalanches have dropped this year, including ‘Running Red Lights’ with Rivers Cuomo and Pink Siifu, ‘Wherever You Go‘ with Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry and CLYPSO as well as what appears to be the forthcoming album’s title track with Blood Orange.
In addition, the band also linked up with Tony Hawk recently for a rare X-ray vinyl record fundraiser for the skateboarding legend’s non-profit Skate Park Project.
