Lady Gaga's 'One World: Together At Home' event performances released as live album | NME
The string of performances from the historic ‘One World: Together At Home’ event that occurred over the weekend has been recorded and released as a live album.
The event, which was organised by Global Citizen and featured a lineup curated and led by Lady Gaga, saw many acts from around the world deliver performances of both original and cover songs for the 8-hour live streamed event to help raise money for coronavirus relief.
For instance, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong played a poignant version of their 2004 hit ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’, The Killers played their classic tune ‘Mr. Brightside’, and Taylor Swift performed her song ‘Soon You’ll Get Better’ live for the first time.
Gaga herself opted to cover Charlie Chaplin, while Billie Eilish and her brother FINNEAS sang ‘Sunny’ by Bobby Hebb. Lizzo sang Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, while Stevie Wonder paid tribute to the late Bill Withers with ‘Lean On Me’.
Some artists took the opportunity to make their voices heard. Paul McCartney performed ‘Lady Madonna’, and called on world leaders to “strengthen healthcare systems”. Christine and the Queens shared advice for those struggling with self-isolation, and Beyoncé aired her concerns about the “alarmingly high rate” at which the virus is killing black Americans.
The album is 79 tracks long, and proceeds from streaming will go directly to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation. Stream it below on Spotify.

According to Global Citizen’s website, the event raised USD $127.9million. Of that amount, $55.1million will be donated to the aforementioned COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation, with the remaining $72.8million will go to local and regional responders of those on the frontline.
