Cardi B shares 'WAP' behind-the-scenes video with Megan Thee Stallion: "It was scary. The snake's big as shit" | NME
Cardi B has shared a behind-the-scenes video capturing the making of her glamorous music video for her hit collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, ‘WAP’.
Shared on Cardi B’s YouTube channel, the nine-minute video first shows the rapper learning the choreography with her troupe of backup dancers, as well as snippets of the set construction.
Following that, Cardi and Megan meet the snakes for the first time, something which neither of them were immediately pleased about.
“It was scary. The snake’s big as shit. What are we gonna do? When you see how big these snakes is, you’re not about to be doing all that,” Megan said to Cardi, who was miming the choreography.

As the clip notes, the filming of ‘WAP’ commenced in early July, five days before the state of California was set to increase indoor restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At points during the production, cast and crew were filming past midnight.
Footage of Normani, Mulatto, Rubi Rose and Sukihana filming their cameo appearances is also included in the clip. Toward the end, the video ties in a snippet of an earlier livestream Cardi B hosted with Megan Thee Stallion to launch the track.
“I wish the people really knew how you were in real life, you are the nicest fucking person that I know. So, thank you so much for just blowing my mind,” Megan said.
“This song – it is just you, you know what I’m saying? This is so you, it’s so nasty… This had to be the one,” Cardi responded.
The clip the first instalment of behind-the-scenes footage set to be released.
Cardi initially wanted Lizzo to appear in the cameo-heavy ‘WAP’ video (which included a controversial appearance by Kylie Jenner, a decision Cardi later defended). However, the ‘Juice’ star couldn’t make it due to scheduling conflicts.
