BTS Will Make Late-Night Return on ‘The Tonight Show’
Global superstars BTS are set to make a highly anticipated return to late-night television, confirming their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This milestone event marks the group’s first full-band late-night performance in nearly five years, signaling a major ramp-up in promotional activity following the completion of their mandatory military service in South Korea.
A Grand Return to the Stage
Fans have waited years for the group to fully reunite on a global stage. The upcoming Tonight Show appearance, scheduled for March 25 and 26, is structured as a two-night special. The first installment will feature an intimate, sit-down interview with Jimmy Fallon alongside a high-energy musical performance. The second night will be dedicated to an additional performance, mirroring the successful double-header format the group utilized during their 2021 appearance where they debuted hits like “Permission to Dance” and “Butter.”
Celebrating the Comeback Album: ‘Arirang’
This television appearance is strategically timed to celebrate the release of their comeback album, Arirang, which drops on March 20. The project represents a significant chapter for the septet, as it is their first full-length LP released since the members finished their service. The anticipation surrounding the album has been palpable, with the group opting for a massive, global rollout strategy.
Global Momentum and the 82-Date Tour
The Tonight Show special is just one piece of a broader, high-stakes promotional puzzle. On March 21, the day after the album’s release, BTS will perform a free concert at Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square, which will be broadcast globally via Netflix. Shortly after, on March 23, the members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—will head to New York City for the exclusive ‘Spotify x BTS: SWIMSIDE’ event, their first stateside performance in nearly four years.
Looking Toward the Future
Beyond the promotional blitz, the group is preparing for their massive 82-date international tour, set to begin on April 9. As RM recently shared in a joint interview with GQ, the focus remains on their collective bond. “The most important thing is just that we are here back together again,” he noted, reflecting the sentiment shared by millions of ARMY members worldwide. With a documentary on Netflix arriving March 27, the band is ensuring that every step of their reunion is documented for posterity.
