Sydney Sweeney Has “Never Tried Coffee” and Only Needs Two Hours of Sleep to Function

Although Sydney Sweeney is currently starring in a new horror film, Immaculate, the scariest thing she’s shared lately might just be a detail in a recent interview. When speaking with the WSJ Magazine, the Emmy-nominated actress and producer explained that not only has she never tried coffee, she can also function for a long time on extremely minimal sleep — as little as two hours a night.

“I’ve never tried coffee before,” she said. “I just drink water.” Her dog, Tank, acts as her alarm clock each morning.

Sweeney revealed that she loved sweets and soda so much as a kid that her parents bet that she wouldn’t be able to drink only water for a week. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I can. Watch me.’ And then I kept doing it.”

She continued, “It’s so good because then I started getting older, and I realized drinking water is great for your skin, and it’s great for you as a person and your body and it’s healthy. So it was a good thing my younger self started.” When she’s been slaying red carpets the way she absolutely has been lately, it’s hard to disagree with that logic.

The actress is coming off of a summer promoting Anyone But You, which became the first rom-com in five years to cross the $200 million mark at the box office. She also recently hosted Saturday Night Live in an episode that featured Kacey Musgraves as a musical guest. Lest the web that connects us all be forgotten, Sweeney also appeared in soon-to-be camp classic Madame Web.

While she had also been gearing up for the third season of Euphoria, the HBO teen drama was recently delayed indefinitely. The network claims to still be targeting a 2025 release, but Deadline reported that creator Sam Levinson has yet to finish the scripts, and actors like Sweeney were given permission to pursue other projects. That may free up some time for her to dive into her planned remake of 1968 film Barbarella, which will be produced through her own Fifty-Fifty Films.
