Osbourne was previously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006. Last year, his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, ripped on the Hall of Fame for failing to induct Ozzy as a solo artist. “I will never beg. And I will never ask for favors I’ve never asked anyone for a favor,” she said. “So, my thing is fuck you if you don’t realize that somebody really deserves to be here. And you don’t recognize that? Then, see ya!”
Cher is finally being inducted after first becoming eligible in 1991. (Sonny and Cher have not been inducted into the Hall of Fame). She lamented about her snubbing in an interview late last year, saying she has she has no desire to be inducted and adding that the Hall of Fame “can just go you-know-what themselves.”
This year’s finalists who will have to wait until 2025 for another chance include Oasis, Mariah Carey, Sade, Sinead O’Connor, Jane’s Addiction, Eric B. & Rakim, and Lenny Kravitz.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2024 induction ceremony will take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, October 19th, and will stream live on Disney+. It will also be available on Hulu following its premiere, and will receive a special broadcast airing on ABC.
