Nraakors Give Us The Incredible Crossover Album ‘Hoppel Poppel’

Iowa-based band Nraakors recently gave us the incredible crossover album Hoppel Poppel. This 59-minute record lists a collection of 19 tracks while revisiting several musical genres, from folk/rock to neo-classical, and from french film score music to jazz and even applied live electronics.

Hoppel Poppel is fully recorded, produced, arranged and mixed by Nraakors.

The brainchild of James Kasper, Joseph Norman, Gigi Macabre, and Johnathan, Nraakors is an original project that listeners don’t often have the opportunity to hear, not fitting any category or box but on the opposite, expanding musical horizons and bringing together several genres into one tracklist.

One of the founders of the band, James Kasper, grew up with classical music, mainly 40s-50s popular songs and AM rock, later on followed by lots of rock, prog, classic and modern jazz, klezmer. Gigi grew up on a steady diet of classic rock, grunge, punk, and heavy metal, along with more classical training in piano and trumpet. Joseph Norman completed a Doctoral Degree in Music Composition at the University of Iowa in 2019. With their different life and professional experiences, Nraakors’ members complement each other and fuel their collective creativity and passion to unprecedented heights, some of the reasons explaining the success and beauty of the album Hoppel Poppel.
