Harris & Ford x Ian Storm x SilkandStones – Jeanny

32%%Overall Score

• This is not Harris & Ford
• Generic Slap House patterns
• Annoying vocal over a Slap House style

The duo is one of the rising star in the Spinnin’ roster, and for good reason. Like other talented names (notably LNY TNZ), they managed to bring their version of Hardstyle into a commercial environment.
Usually I would hate their signature high-pitched vocals, but mixed with their second “unique element” (bouncy and happy atmospheres) the synergy works well. Huge collabs with Blasterjaxx and Ummet Ozcan have been welcomed well, amassing millions of streams; today, however, we have a little “oopsie”.

The duo Ian Storm and SilkandStones has several collabs together, mostly poppish Deep House and Brazilian Bass. They aren’t actually bad, but when mixed with the style of Harris & Ford, the abomination that came is “Jeanny”. Ignoring the badly-made music video (no comment), “Jeanny” shows how annoying can the Harris & Ford vocal style if not used in its natural environment. Ah, surprise surprise, this is a Slap House rework of a classic, the 1985 song “Jeanny” from German Falco….

Looks like Harris & Ford only contributed in the vocal part while Ian Storm and SilkandStones’ style is easily hearable with Brazilian Bass influences. One may think that the rap part is better than the high-pitched sound, but it’s still way below a decent rating. Just listen to the 1985 version for a good vocal.

In order, “Jeanny” is a mediocre rework with a serious problem with vocals. We respect the artists involved, who clearly have talent in their niches, but mixing their styles together like this doesn’t work at all.
