Darius Rucker Arrested on Minor Drug Charges
Country musician and Hootie & The Blowfish singer Darius Rucker has been arrested in Tennessee for minor drug offenses.
As reported by TMZ, Rucker was taken into custody on Thursday in Williamson County, where he lives. He was brought into jail around 12:00 p.m. CT, and was booked on three separate misdemeanor charges, including two counts of simple possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance, and one count of violation of Tennessee vehicle registration laws (reportedly for having expired tags on his car).
After about an hour, Rucker was released on $10,500 bond, and is no longer in custody. His attorney, Mark Puryear, has issued a statement, saying: “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”
