Bossfight – The Pit
84%%Overall Score
• A four-minute experience
• Heavily festival-oriented
• That drop struck so hard, isn’t it?
Currently Monstercat signed producer Bossfight is perhaps one of a kind, renewing his style at any moment required. Indulging through various genres exclusive to Dubstep is, by far, the best decision he has taken. “The Pit” is his brutal festival executioner, a hulking size of a wobbling-glitchy of a song that will surely please headbangers around the globe.
This young producer’s career is interesting; starting to make music regularly for Newgrounds, he then shifted positions to the Geometry Dash scene on user’s custom levels, finally establishing as one of Monstercat’s reputed pillars.
The impressive artwork fetched my attention however the explosive content resides in the interior its promoting. From the beginning, it offers a mysterious aura fitting for an live-intro edit, and an admirable vocal with an echo-looping effect that enhances the build-up segment. The drop is a stunner of a loud bassline, stashed with impressive FXs that one can expect from this magnitude of a hook.
Amongst all these praise, I can probably think of a negative point, that being the repeat of same esoteric vibe from the start. Honestly, an excellent rap vocal would be great and render the tune more danceable and rhythmic! The latter drop uses the unchanged vocal chop from the risers, with the drop using handful of laser FXs that is suspiciously turning into another trend in the Dubstep community (check Round Table releases, most of them employ similar sounds).
“The Pit” is a tune that snuggly fits for a mashup and a heavyweight addition to any said genre playlists, a striking contender for “Dubstep song of the year” and a must-listen for every Monstercat fan out there. Hope to hear this one out while rushing toward the opponent’s goal post on Rocket League (wink gif).
