Billie Eilish Says She Won’t Do Three-Hour Shows on Upcoming Tour

Billie Eilish won’t be playing marathon shows on her upcoming world tour, the artist recently revealed while chatting with fans on the app StationHead.

Eilish expressed her thoughts on the daunting idea of doing three-hour concerts after being asked whether she would perform every song from her new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

“I can’t do that,” Eilish said. “My show would be like a million years long. If I did that, I’d have to cut like every other song that I have — so I’m gonna have to choose, y’all. But I’ll do most of [the songs from the album].”

Responding to another question, Eilish continued, “I’m not doing a three-hour show. That’s literally psychotic. Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. I don’t even want that as a fan. My favorite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours.”

Eilish’s comments went viral on Twitter after being posted by a Taylor Swift fan account. This led to some Swifties interpreting Eilish’s words as a dig against Swift, who has regularly been going past three hours on her career-spanning “The Eras Tour.”

However, Eilish previously praised Swift’s ability to play lengthy stadium concerts while explaining she wouldn’t be able to do the same in an interview with the Los Angeles Times last year.

“I find it really hard to play stadiums,” she said. “Beyoncé and Taylor [Swift] are untouchable superstars; the fact that they can put on a show that long, and it’s filled with so many incredible moments, is really amazing. I don’t want anyone to think I’m ungrateful about playing stadiums, but when you go to one, there’s nothing in you that thinks that the artist knows you’re there. I want the crowd to know that I am seeing them with my own eyes.”

“Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour” kicks off in late September 2024 and will feature arena shows across North America, Australia, Europe, and the UK. Get tickets here.
