TikTok Star Chris Olsen Is Getting His Own SiriusXM Interview Show

Before D.C.’s Verizon center became the Capital One arena, it was the home for Chris Olsen’s first concert experience. “My mom took me to the Monster Ball when I was 10,” he says. “I knew what it was going to be. She was a little shocked and was like, ‘I don’t know if I should have taken my 10 year old to this,’ but I was so happy to have gone. It was life changing.”

So when Gaga followed him on TikTok during her Mayhem album promotion earlier this year, Olsen said it shocked him. Well, to be more specific, he says it continues to blow his mind every single day he opens the app and sees her — or any other celebrity —  engage with his work. (A quick turn to the camera shows that his lockscreen is still him meeting Ariana Grande at the 2025 Golden Globes.) “I can’t believe that she even has perceived me,” he says, sort of vibrating in excitement. “If you told 10 year old Chris,  I think he would just die on the spot. He would be so gagged.”

It’s this pure enthusiasm for all things celebrity — and in fact Olsen’s cheerful energy in general — that turned him into a TikTok star during the 2020 pandemic. Olsen, 27, began posting with his then-boyfriend Ian Paget (another creator), but quickly grew a fanbase for his comedic videos sharing everything from disgust about the latest soda trends to heartful discussions about his path to sobriety and health. His TikTok followers doubled after he struck up a friendship with singer Meghan Trainor, and he soon became inescapable on the app with a viral series where he hopped on flights and delivered coffee to celebrities. Now with 13.8 million followers on TikTok alone, and a constant creator presence on red carpets like the Golden Globes and the Grammys, Olsen says he excited to start a new project, joining SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio team as a new host of the interview series focused on musicians and actors dominating pop culture today: TikTok Radio IRL

“So much of my content was already centered around pop culture,” Olsen tells Rolling Stone over zoom ahead of his Houston Club Chris variety show with Ryan Trainor. “But I also felt like there’s sometimes a limit of what you can do on TikTok to talk about projects that these artists are so passionate about. The [show] really gives us the ability to really get into the details and talk in depth.”

TikTok Radio is a SiriusXM channel built to sound like “a radio version of the platform’s ‘For You’ feed,” SiriusXM and TikTok said in 2021, combining live playback of trending songs on the app with a steady mix of chart toppers and pop culture explanations. TikTok creators Davis Burleson, Lamar Dawson, Jess Lucero and Masani Musa all host separate segments on the channel, focusing on throwback music, entertainment news breakdowns, and celebrity interviews. Now, Olsen is adding what he calls his “professional fan” energy to SiriusXM’s to the lineup.

“From my perspective as a fan, but also as a theater student, I think [the show] will hopefully give me the ability to help the world see and understand [my guests] in new ways that feel more relatable,” Olsen says. “But also in a way that makes these artists feel like they’re able to be heard for their music and who they are.” Olsen’s first episode, out today, features an in depth interview with Selena Gomez where they discuss her collaborative new LP, I Said I Love You First, co-written with her fiancé Benny Blanco.

“I was, to be honest, very frustrated and kind of confused on where I wanted to go next musically. And we had been together for a while, and obviously I would confide in [Blanco],” Gomez told Rolling Stone ahead of the album’s release. “I couldn’t figure out my sound. It helps that he knows a little bit about music, and it kind of happened organically to where I felt like this process was unlike any other process I’d ever been through.”

The full lineup of Olsen’s guests hasn’t been announced yet, but the creator says he’s shooting for the stars — and wouldn’t mind if Taylor Swift or Beyoncé swung by. “At the end of the day I’m just a pop culture girly. Who knows? We saw Beyonce give those two quick interviews after the Grammys. So maybe she’ll accidentally wander past the Sirius XM office while I’m in there and I can [wave] and go ‘Hey, come on in. Let’s just talk real quick.’”
