BIGGER! WITH BRENNAN & IZZY
Comedians Brennan Lee Mulligan and Izzy Roland are bringing their improv show “Bigger! With Brennan & Izzy” to Beacon Theatre on January 21 and 22. Also appearing will be Ally Beardsley, Siobhan Thompson, Zac Oyama, and Zach Cherry.
SCREAM / FISHBONE
DC punk legends Scream have a few East Coast shows lined up for March, including NYC’s The Brooklyn Monarch on March 22. That one’s called Ry Ry Fest and headlined by Fishbone, and also has Shutdown, Ache, La Armada, Maafa, LaMacchia, and Neighborhood Shit. Scream also play Kingston’s Tubby’s on March 23.
FRANZ FERDINAND
Franz Ferdinand released their new album The Human Fear today, and they also added a few new shows to their tour supporting it, in Vancouver, Chicago, and Long Island (The Paramount on April 11).
MINDFORCE
Fresh off chaotic sets down in Florida at FYA by Mindforce and Mindforce-related hardcore/rap project Crush Your Soul (new EP out now), Mindforce have announced a last-minute NYHC & rap show closer to home happening next Saturday (1/18) at The Meadows in Brooklyn with the scene’s current rapcore leaders Gridiron and actual NY rapper Meyhem Lauren, as well as NYHC staples Combust & more. Says Mindforce frontman Jay Peta: “Been wanting to bring both my cultures together for a long time… the hardcore scene and the underground rap scene are my two loves – this show means a lot to me. ROLL OUT LETS MAKE HISTORY.” Tickets are on sale for that, and Mindforce and Gridiron both also have more upcoming shows and fests, including Tacoma, WA’s Just Another Gig, which they both play.

Annie DiRusso is going on the “Back in Town Tour” this spring, supporting her debut album Super Pedestrian, which is due out on March 7 via Summer Soup Songs. She’ll be joined by Raffaella, Daffo, and Squirrel Flower varying by date, including an NYC show at Webster Hall on May 28 and an Asbury Park show on May 25 at The Wonder Bar, both with Squirrel Flower.
