Watch Tyler, the Creator perform ‘CHROMAKOPIA’ songs at Camp Flog Gnaw with Doechii, ScHoolboy Q & more

After releasing his masterful new album CHROMAKOPIA in October and celebrating with 30-minute pop-up shows in Atlanta, Boston, and Brooklyn, Tyler, the Creator played his first full-scale concert in support of the album while headlining day one of his own Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival at LA’s Dodger Stadium on Saturday night (11/16). Judging by fan-shot video, it was clear from the minute he started the show with “St. Chroma” that the fans were already very familiar with and into the new material, and that only escalated when mosh pits broke out during the next song, “Rah Tah Tah.”

Tyler played nine of the album’s songs, and he brought out four of the album’s guests: Sexyy Red for “Sticky,” ScHoolboy Q for “Thought I Was Dead,” and Doechii and Daniel Caesar for “Balloon.” Whenever he spoke throughout the night, he expressed a ton of gratitude for the reception to this new album, and he also broke out favorites from Igor, Call Me If You Get Lost, Goblin, and Wolf throughout his 70-minute, career-spanning set. As Mikael Wood put it in a review for LA Times:

A veteran festival act who just headlined Coachella this past April, Tyler knew he had to pepper the new stuff with a handful of old hits: a swaggering “Lumberjack,” a winsome “Earfquake,” a still-acrid “Yonkers” that made you wonder how in the world it had been 13 years since that song came out. But in an inversion of what normally happens in this type of environment, the crowd seemed eager for Tyler to return to “Chromakopia.” His fans already knew every word.

Doechii also had a surprise in store during her own set, when she brought out SZA and the two performed their 2022 collaboration “Persuasive.” Watch video of that below too.
