Philip Glass Ensemble performing ‘Koyaanisqatsi’ score live-to-film & more on tour
Some of composer Philip Glass‘ best-known works are his scores for Godfrey Reggio’s 1982 non-narrative documentary Koyaanisqatsi and its sequels Powaqqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002). The Philip Glass Ensemble will be playing live scores to those films as part of their 2024/2025 international tour schedule.
Dates include NYC performances of Powaqqatsi at Town Hall on December 3 and Naqoyqatsi at Town Hall on April 19. Tickets for both of those shows go on sale Friday, September 13 at 10 AM.
The Philip Glass Ensemble also have live score film screening performances in Portland, North Adams (MA), Budapest, Eindhoven, Dublin, and more. They’ll also play the 2025 Tibet House Benefit at Carnegie Hall on March 3 (details TBA). All dates, and trailers for the three films, are below.
