Oasis fans frustrated by online queues, timeouts & prices for UK reunion tour tickets; could international dates be announced soon?

Tickets for OasisUK and Ireland shows went on general sale Saturday morning and, unsurprisingly, it was kind of a shitshow. It was expected that the shows, which include five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, would go quick but high demand for the Britpop icons’ first shows in 16 years caused crashes, timeout and other problems for many trying tickets. Some fans were in virtual queues for hours only to be kicked off the system.

Some of those who made it through were met with higher prices than they were expecting due to Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing systems that made Taylor Swift’s Eras tour a scandall in the US.

By 7 PM UK time, Oasis had announced that tickets for all shows had sold out. Tickets had already started showing up secondary market sites by then — there had been a presale on Friday — with some listed for upwards of £10,000 for prime seats. Oasis said those may not be real, though. “”Tickets appearing on other secondary ticketing sites are either counterfeit or will be cancelled by the promoters,” the band said in a statement. “Tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via Ticketmaster.uk and Twickets.”

Meanwhile, Oasis also hinted about shows happening outside the UK and Ireland. Via Stereogum, and representatives told Billboard that “anticipation for details of the tour’s international dates is now rapidly mounting.” Will US shows be announced soon? Stay tuned.
