Lollapalooza 2024 day 1 pics & video (Megan Thee Stallion, Chappell Roan, Blondshell, Fleshwater, more)

Lollapalooza kicked off its 2024 edition on Thursday (8/1) at Chicago’s Grant Park, with Megan Thee Stallion closing out the night (replacing Tyler the Creator, who cancelled his set in June). Basketball star Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky surprised her, coming out during “Where Them Girls At” and taking a selfie with the rapper. Watch video of that below.

Earlier in the day, Chappell Roan, who had her set moved to the larger T-Mobile stage after originally being scheduled for the IHG Hotels & Resorts Stage, commanded one of the biggest crowds of day. Dressed in a wrestling bodysuit and luchador-style mask (that she quickly discarded), she was joined onstage by a few bodybuilders (including Inez Carrasquillo, the strongest woman in North America) as she played her The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess material, her 2024 hit “Good Luck, Babe!,” and more.

Day 1 of Lollapalooza also featured FLO, Kesha, Olivia Dean, d4vd, Tyla, BigXThaPlug, Blondshell, Fleshwater, Been Stellar, JUNGLE, The Japanese House, and more. See pictures by James Richards IV below.

Lollapalooza continues through the weekend, and if you aren’t going, you can stream some sets live.
