JAH WOBBLE ‘METAL BOX – REBUILT IN DUB’

Former Public Image Limited bassist and all-around post-punk legend Jah Wobble is on tour as we speak, playing his dub interpretation of PiL’s Metal Box. He’ll hit the East Coast soon for shows in Philly (World Cafe Live on July 23) and Brooklyn (Music Hall of Williamsburg on 7/24).

UK legends 10cc (“I’m Not In Love,” “Dreadlock Holiday”) will be on their first US tour in over 30 years starting next week, and the lineup for the group is Graham Gouldman (bass guitars, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals); Rick Fenn (lead electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals); Paul Burgess (drums, percussion, keyboards); Andy Park (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, percussion, mandolin, keyboards, vocals); and Keith Hayman (keyboards, electric guitar, bass guitar, vocals). Additionally, they have added Robin Taylor Zander (son of Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander) as the opener. BIG LAUGH

Milwaukee bruisers Big Laugh, who made one of our favorite hardcore albums of 2023, will be on tour in August, including stops in Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, Boston, NYC (Bar Freda on 8/8 with Rabbit Cutdown and Beg to Differ), NJ, Philly, Richmond, and more.

AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA BKLYN

After many years in Commodore Barry Park, AFROPUNK moved to Greenpoint Terminal Market last year for their 2023 “Circus of Soul,” and for 2024 they’re moving again. They’ve announced BLKTOPIA BKLYN, a two-day festival happening in Prospect Park.

PETER HOOK & THE LIGHT

“It still amazes me how enjoyable it is to play the Substance LPs,” says Peter Hook of his upcoming tour, where he and his band The Light will play both the New Order and Joy Division Substance comps. “The contrast between Joy Division and New Order is very apparent but both complement each other very well. My only frustration is not being able to play more of our records each night. I am totally looking forward to the next phase. So, let’s enjoy some Substance and get ready for the future.” The NYC stop happens September 6 at Brooklyn Steel.
