Parquet Court’s A. Savage announces intimate fall shows

A. Savage of Parquet Courts has announced a new run of US shows this fall. “Live & Lonely, Two Nights Only” will feature two-night runs at intimate venues in NYC, Chicago, Austin, and Los Angeles. “I think that any song that’s worth a damn should be able to be reduced to its barest elements, and that’s what I am to do on this tour, perform these songs using only my instrument and my voice,” Savage says, adding, “I’d like to play for two nights in each city because I have a lot of material I’d like to cover. From my albums Several Songs about Fire and Thawing Dawn, but also from Parquet Courts and perhaps even some older songs from my old group Teenage Cool Kids. No doubt some cover renditions as well. In essence — my repertoire.”

“Reducing some of these songs to their barest elements will be quite easy, but others will certainly be more challenging — but I think that in this context, with my words hanging in the air in equal measure with the guitar, there’s a quality of humility,” Savage continues. “These are my songs, this is me, these are my words, these are the sounds my mouth and fingers make.”

The NYC shows are on October 1 and 2 at Union Pool. Tickets to all dates go on sale Friday, June 21 at 10 AM local time.
