Deadpool and Wolverine Won’t Give Taylor Swift the Opportunity to Redeem Herself for Cats
Sorry, but you need to calm down about the possibility of Taylor Swift redeeming herself for Cats with an appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Shortly after IMAX stoked months-long rumors with a new poster showing the titular characters holding hands and wearing friendship bracelets that have now become associated with “The Eras Tour,” Entertainment Weekly published a report squashing the idea.
Speculation about Swift’s potential appearance as Dazzler in the Marvel film reached a fever pitch in October when lead actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were spotted at a Chiefs game with director Shawn Levy. Of course, they were caught on camera with Swift, who was there in support of her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce.

Despite Swift’s pre-existing relationships with Reynolds (through his wife Blake Lively) and Levy (who appeared in her 2021 “All Too Well” short film), fans took this to be a sign that the pop star would be in the hotly-anticipated movie.
In a recent Fandango interview, Reynolds and Levy demurred from denying the speculation, with the former saying, “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”
With that in mind, we’ll find out the hard truth about Swift in Deadpool and Wolverine soon enough: the movie hits theaters in just over a month on July 26th.
Meanwhile, Swift is on the UK/European leg of “The Eras Tour” with Paramore. Get tickets here.
