Tierra Whack Delivers Captivating Set for NPR Tiny Desk, Performs with Phillie Phanatic: Watch
Tierra Whack stopped by NPR for her first Tiny Desk Concert, performing a captivating set of old and new songs, and bringing out a special guest, the Phillie Phanatic.
Whack kicked off the performance with a number of tracks from her 2018 mixtape Whack World — “Flea Market,” “Pretty Ugly,” and more — bringing them to life with a seven-piece band dubbed The Big Backs. Then, she dove into material from her recently-released debut studio album, WORLD WIDE WHACK.
One highlight came when Whack, a Philadelphia native, was joined by the Phillie Phanatic, who provided backup dancing for her performance of the WORLD WIDE WHACK cut “MOOVIES.” Watch the full Tiny Desk Concert below.

WORLD WIDE WHACK arrived this past March via Interscope, and is the debut studio album released by Whack. It was preceded by the singles “SHOWER SONG” and “27 CLUB,” and included the standout track “MS BEHAVE,” which earned recognition as Consequence’s Song of the Week. The album as a whole was highlighted in our staff’s picks of their favorite albums of March 2024.
