Firewalker announce new LP ‘Hell Bent’ (stream a track)

Boston hardcore band Firewalker have announced their sophomore album, Hell Bent, due June 28 via Triple B Records (pre-order). It’s their first LP since 2017 and first new music since their 2022 demo. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by drummer Sasha Stroud at her NYC studio, Artifact Audio, and it features a song with guest vocals by Trapped Under Ice/Angel Du$t’s Justice Tripp. Guitarist Cecelia Halle says:

After being a band for nearly ten years, we wanted to create an album that captured how we have progressed musically, both in terms of instrumentation and inspiration. Since the beginning of Firewalker, we have drawn inspiration from Madball’s progression as a band: starting with the simplicity and genius of Ball of Destruction and developing towards heavier and metallic albums like Set it Off. With that in mind, the writing of the album drew heavily from our influences in hardcore and metal—trying to capture the spirit of late 80s metallic hardcore while holding true to our roots as a Boston hardcore band.

The first taste of the album is “Carry My Own Torch,” which definitely does find Firewalker getting harsher and more metallic. Check it out below.
