GRUPO FRONTERA

Fresh off releasing their sophomore album Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada, Texas norteño band Grupo Frontera have announced a tour starting in late summer that includes a Brooklyn show at Barclays Center on August 29.

RAPSODY

North Carolina rapper Rapsody released her very good new album Please Don’t Cry on Jamla/Roc Nation (read our review), and now she has announced a tour supporting it. It includes four Europe/UK shows in September followed by a fall North American tour, with support on the N.A. dates from New York’s Niko Brim.

Alt-rock greats The The have announced their first new album in nearly 25 years, Ensoulment, and a fall tour.

THE BLOOD BROTHERS

The Blood Brothers announced their first tour since 2014 earlier this weekend, celebrating the 20th anniversary of 2004’s Crimes, and they’ve now added more shows in NYC, Austin, Philly and Chicago.

LOUISA STANCIOFF

Maine-based singer-songwriter Louisa Stancioff released her debut album, When We Were Looking, in April via Yep Roc, and she’ll be on tour this summer supporting it. She has shows with Oshima Brothers on the East Coast (including NYC’s Heaven Can Wait on Jun 25, a run with Blitzen Trapper, and some dates in her home state. See her full schedule here.

David Gilmore keeps adding LA and NYC shows to his 2024 tour schedule.

ASTRID SONNE

London-based Danish composer and musician Astrid Sonne has announced her first-ever North American tour. It kicks off at Philly’s Making Time ∞ fest and from there hits Brooklyn (Public Records on 9/23 with Christelle Bofale), Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Saugerties, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Jeff Rosenstock keeps adding shows at Brooklyn’s Warsaw. We’re now up to six.

THE DISMEMBERMENT PLAN

The Dismemberment plan are playing benefit shows celebrating the 25th anniversary of Emergency & I, and they’ve added a second DC show at The Atlantis on September 5 (the other is at the 9:30 Club on 9/6). There are also shows in Richmond and Durham ahead of their appearance at Best Friends Forever fest in Vegas.

THE SEWERHEADS (MEMS GOTOBEDS)

Pittsburgh’s The Sewerheads includes The Gotobeds’ Eli Kasan and members of Empty Beings and Rave Ami, and draw influence from These Immortal Souls, PJ Harvey, Iceage, Gun Club, and other swarthy groups. Their debut single is out next week (listen below) and they’ve got a few Midwest dates in May and June in Pennsylvania an Ohio:

  • May 25 – Cincinnati, OH @ Northside Tavern
  • May 26 – Columbus, OH @ Ace of Cups
  • July 19 – Cleveland, OH @ Grog Shop

ARTEMAS

UK alt-pop artist Artemas has announced a world tour for late summer into fall. That includes North American shows in Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, NYC, DC, Atlanta, Austin, two-night stands in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and more.

DEAD BOYS / RICHARD LLOYD

Cheetah Chrome‘s current version of the Dead Boys are on an East Coast tour this weekend with fellow CBGB vet Richard Lloyd of Television. Dead Boys also have a European tour in August and then they’ll play US dates in the Southwest and West Coast in November. All dates here.
