Punk Island announces 2024 lineup

Free, all-ages NYC DIY punk festival Punk Island has announced its 2024 edition, Punk News reports. It’s the festival’s 16th year, and after two years at other locations (Bay Ridge in 2023 and Bushwick in 2022), it’s returning to Randall’s Island for the first time since 2019, happening on Saturday, June 8.

This year’s lineup includes 95 Bulls, A New Bug, Bachslider, Better Plastic, Black Lincoln, Caitlin Starr, Calendar Year, Car Becomes Airplane, Cash Bribe, Cat Crash, Chemical X, Come Mierda, Crazy and The Brains, Crush Fund, Dead Tooth, Despot, Dias Azules, Dodomeki, Drogato, Erica Dawn Lyle, Fox Teeth, Femcel, Francie Moon, Frida Kill, Goblin City Rat Boys, Hands of Spite, Jekssaira, Joudy, Kaiser Solzie, Kissy Noises, Lagrimas HTX, Lake Lanier, Laurel Canyon, Lurking Class, Maafa, Mary Shelley, Miltiaismyname, Monica Bang, Necrotic Society, Neon Rayon, Not Yer Baby, One Hour Photo, Person(A), PMFD, Presence of Conflict, Prostitution, Psychic of Orange, Pucker Up!, Pusch, Queer Chaos, Rats En Zelo, RBNX, Red Hunting Cap, Sgt. The festival will also host tables from a variety of artists, organizations, and vendors, including zine fest presented by #blkgrlswurld, Gnarly Headache, Battle Jester, Meghann Early, Gregorio Lewis, Porch Water Press, NCY Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council, Fierce Invalids, Maya Cordero, Sid Drmay, Outsider Magazine, Olive Nicole, Alfaaz Zine, Punk Rock Saves Lives, Mac, Punk Scholars Network, Interference Archive, Black Rock Coalition, and Punks In Recovery.

The next benefit show for the festival happens on June 1 at Purgatory, and is with BEEF, Chico Raro, and Adult Human Females. It’s also a zine release party for An Oral History of Brooklyn Transcore: The First 10 Years of Trans Vitality, and a limited number of print copies will be available for purchase.
